It was a holiday at Xpheno, a recruitment company, on July 1 as the company declared a holiday to celebrate India’s victory in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. On June 29, on an emotion-filled day, India ended their 11-year wait for the global trophy, overcoming South Africa, who chocked at the business end of the match by seven runs to emerge world champions.

It was India’s second T20 World Cup victory after they had won it in 2007 under the legendary MS Dhoni in South Africa, and first since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.

Bengaluru-based Xpheno, which has more than 500 employees, is a specialist talest solutions for executive search, direct hire, IT staffing, engineering services and sales staffing.

“It was a surprise to all of us and this is special as the first day of the month is usually busy as we have billings, payroll closures, etc. But it was decided to declare the day off, as Team India put in a great effort, and this is our small tribute to the boys,” said Xpheno head (workforce research) Prasadh MS, according to Moneycontrol.
