Life Is Strange Fan Spots “Creepy” Kate Marsh Detail Almost 10 Years After Its Release

Highlights

  • Life is Strange’s easter egg features Kate Marsh pacing on a rooftop, referencing her emotional state in the game.
  • The easter egg is difficult to spot and has taken fans years to discover.
  • Life is Strange: Double Exposure will respect both original endings, allowing players to carry over their choices.

It only feels like yesterday that I was playing Life is Strange as Max Caulfield; turning the hands of time as I tried to untangle events in Arcadia Bay. Where did those almost ten years go? Released in 2015, the Don’t Nod episodic tale revolved around a teenage photography senior who discovers she can rewind time while saving her best friend Chloe Price, and in that decade, players still haven’t found all of the game’s little secrets.

Establishing itself as one of the most prominent adventure games on the market, Life is Strange has one more trick up its sleeve all these years later in a “creepy” easter egg that involves the Blackwell Academy student and devout Christian, Kate Marsh.

Life is Strange Easter Egg

As seen on the Life is Strange Fans‘ Twitter/X account, (taken from Reddit user JennyVanille’s post) we see Max in episode 2 in Mr. Jefferson’s classroom as he discusses, coincidentally, Kate’s absence. For those who can’t remember or haven’t played Life is Strange, Kate Marsh, who is a shy and devoutly religious character in the game, has been going through a really rough time after a video featuring her kissing strangers at a party has gone viral, leaving her in an emotional state and even to the point where she wants to take her own life.

As the class makes small talk about Marsh not being in school, through the classroom’s window, you can see Marsh on the rooftop as she paces, contemplating her life choices. It’s certainly not an easy easter egg to spot, and it’s of little wonder why it has taken this long for fans of the game to finally see it unless you know where to look. Thankfully, players can save Marsh from her impending doom if they make the right choices with the protagonist, Max.

If you missed Max and all of those hard and often heartbreaking choices, she’s back once more in Life is Strange: Double Exposure on October 29, 2024. It has also been revealed that the game will respect both endings from the original, so depending on what you choose regarding saving the town or Chloe, this will carry over into the next installment.
