Baldur’s Gate 3 Cast Open To Return For Sequel

There are no plans to release DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3, and Larian Studios is already working on its next title, which will not take place in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Despite that, Jennifer English, the actress for Shadowheart, said that the entire cast would love to return for a sequel, provided that it’s worth their time.

These subclasses deserve more love for the amount of fun that they are.

“I think we’re [the cast] all open to the future of it,” she recently told GamesRadar. “If there is a future with Shadowheart, I would want it to be beautifully written and honor that game’s audience, and how inclusive and forward-thinking Larian is. If that opportunity came up and she was beautifully written, and that audience and inclusivity was honored, I would certainly consider it – but only with those conditions.”

English doesn’t want the character to become a caricature of herself. If she returns to the role, she wants the writing to do the character justice.

Everyone would have loved more story content for Baldur’s Gate 3. While there’s no DLC planned, we are getting a major content update next year. In addition to Photo Mode and Cross-Play updates, the 2025 update is headlined by 12 new subclasses, including the Hexblade and Bladesinger.

As for the next adventure, we know that Larian is moving on from the Dungeons & Dragons license, so don’t expect a new entry in the Baldur’s Gate franchise. Larian CEO Swen Vincke is excited about what the studio is currently working on. He recently mentioned that the team is excitedly buzzing and pouring their passion into their next project. “I don’t know if we’re going to pull it off,” he said earlier this year, “but looking at our narrative, visual and gameplay plans, I think what we’re working on now will be our best work ever.”
