What Are Fae Towers?

You will discover these towers as you explore the numerous realms present in the game. You will be required to complete these towers in order to progress through the game, but sometimes you may find yourself faced with a particularly daunting challenge. Fae Towers can have several enemies present at once, or even some really tricky jumps to make. This means that some players might want to be more aware of their surroundings by changing their camera to a third person perspective.

Since you don’t know exactly what the game will be throwing your way, you will want to prepare for uncertainty. Firstly, make sure you have some Climbing Picks and an Umbrella. You may find yourself staring down a near-impossible Bastille without the right gear at your disposal. Climbing picks make it possible for you to climb, while your Umbrella will allow you to glide. The higher your Gear Score, the easier these towers will be, so it never hurts to increase your Gear Score a little before you walk through those doors.

Have some food buffs ready so that you can go beyond your normal means, some healing items for when your health gets low, and you should also definitely have some Essence Dust pocketed. You may find yourself needing this Essence Dust in case you get knocked about too much and need to repair your gear. Recruiting an NPC will also be a massive help whenever it comes to dealing with enemies, and they can even carry stuff you might want to make use of.

Locating Fae Towers

These towers will become marked on your map, but they are also rather large, and you might be able to see them without even needing to look at your map while you are looking from some higher ground. It is quite easy to make out these towers when one of them is in the far-off distance.

Entering Fae Towers

Entering Towers is even easier than finding them. All you need to do is go up to them and walk around until you find the doors. The doors will then open for you, allowing you access to the tower.

Solving Fae Towers

You will be tasked with overcoming several trials for each of these Towers. Enemies are a straightforward combat trial, various possible puzzles will try to stump you but can be overcome with a logical solution, and sometimes you might find yourself faced with some platforming or even a maze to work your way out of.

Overcoming Fae Tower Challenges

Once you pass through the doors, it seems you will always need to deal with some enemies before you get to the next challenge. These enemies can come in the form of waves, with the next batch coming after the previous one. Aim for weak points such as the head or heart to deal the most damage — the number will be yellow instead of red when you hit one of these. Also, be mindful of any traps that might be in the room as this can end you up in a corner, or surrounded by enemies with no way out except to go through them.

Don’t get backed into a corner as waves on both sides can mean you could face sequential damage from these enemies. Try to take out weak enemies at range when possible to reduce their numbers. The kinds of enemies you face will differ wildly based on many factors, such as which realm you are in and what the difficulty is. Once the floor is clear of enemies and no more appear to be coming, you can safely claim all the drops, Essence, and Essence Bundles that are scattered about the room. Then it’s time to go up to the next floor where your next challenge awaits.

The middle challenge will be some form of non-combat-focused challenge, such as a puzzle or maze. If you find yourself in a Maze, you can utilize the tried and true approach of following the left-hand side at all times. If you never take your left hand off the side of a wall when entering a maze, you will always be able to find either the exit or end up back at the start. This is a surefire way to not get lost in a maze. If you are facing a Bastille of Agility, you will have all the tools you need to complete it thanks to those Climbing Picks and Umbrella you packed. Bastilles of Intelligence will require you to activate specific crystals in order to clear the challenge.

Once you clear this second challenge, the final one will be combat yet again. You should make sure you are fully healed up, take any buffs you may need, and get your best weapons ready. There is no need to hold back or conserve ammo as once you clear this wave you can return to your base and restock whatever you need. Once the final challenge is overcome, claim all the drops, Essence Bundles, and Fae Chest as your reward.
