Pokemon To Use Against Mighty Venusaur

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet - Mighty Venusaur Best Counter Pokemon

If you’re looking for the best Pokemon to use against the Mighty Venusaur, you actually have a couple of options. Here’s a breakdown of a few of the best builds for this Tera Raid.

Chesnaught’s Best Build

What makes Chesnaught a great counter to Mighty Venusaur is that it can resist Ground Types (Venusaur’s Tera Type) and Grass Types (Venusaur’s original Type). It also has Bulletproof, which will block some of Venusaur’s Moves.

Tera Type

Stellar or Grass

Nature

Adamant

Ability

Bulletproof

Held Item

Shell Bell

Moves

  • Belly Drum (or Swords Dance)
  • Leech Seed
  • Spiky Shield
  • Seed Bomb

Corviknight’s Best Build

Corviknight is another great option because it can lower Venusaur’s Defense, making other Pokemon hit Venusaur harder. It also can use Taunt, which will make Venusaur attack you rather than setting itself up for higher attacks.

Tera Type

Stellar

Nature

Calm

Ability

Mirror Armor

Held Item

Light Clay

Moves

  • Screech (or Metal Sound)
  • Taunt
  • Defog
  • Light Screen

Other Pokemon You Could Use

Here’s a list of Pokemon you could use against Venusaur, but they aren’t nearly as effective as Corviknight and Chesnaught.

  1. Appletun
  2. Venusaur
  3. Hisuian Goodra
  4. Terapagos
  5. Decidueye
  6. Calyrex (Ice Rider)

You will want your Pokemon to be as close to level 100 as you can get, and you want them to have good IVs.

Tips & Tricks For Fighting Mighty Venusaur

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet - Mighty Venusaur Battle

  1. Make sure that you are in a group that has Pokemon that are able to take on Venusaur.
  2. Venusaur will use Sunny Day and then Growth, giving it a +2 Special Attack Boost. Try to stop it from doing this (you can use Taunt).
  3. Know Venusaur’s Weaknesses (Grass, Ice, and Water).
  4. Amnesia will boost its Special Defense, so look out for this. You will need Physical Attacks.
  5. Don’t feel discouraged if you don’t beat it the first time. Understanding your best strategy will be key to winning.
