Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon offers great build variety, allowing players to truly make their characters unique. This can be done through various spells, weapons, and armor and by investing points into stats.

Players can also improve their build through the use of Relics, rare items found in the world that offer buffs to gear. There are two types of Relics: Weapon Relics and Armor Relics.

When you first acquire a Relic, you may be wondering how to use it since the game doesn’t provide much information. Here’s how to use Relics in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

How to Use Relics

Players can use Relics at Grindstone benches in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Grindstones are usually found at Blacksmiths and offer services such as inputting Relics, upgrading armor, reducing the weight of gear, and Handcrafting.

Interacting with a Grindstone, you’ll reach a menu offering all the services mentioned. Select the “Attach Relic” option to be brought to a menu consisting of all your weapons and armor.

Now all you have to do is select the gear piece you’d like to equip a Relic on and spend the corresponding amount of gold to unlock a Relic slot. The cost of creating a Relic slot usually falls around 500 gold.

Once you create a Relic slot, select that slot to open up the Relic menu and select the one you’d like to insert. Next, select the option to officially engrave the Relic into the gear piece to apply the effects.

Players can add two Relics for each weapon and armor. However, players can only insert Weapon Relics into weapons and Armor Relics into armor pieces. This information is provided on the Relic description card.

How to Find Relics

As previously mentioned, Relics are a rare item that can be found while exploring the game world. There is no definite way to acquire Relics, but I’ve noticed some methods have a higher success rate.

For example, entering side dungeons such as mines, caves, and other unique locations, and thoroughly searching through these areas will lead to acquiring Relics. Make sure to search every crate, lockpick every locked chest, etc.

Additionally, Relics have a chance to be dropped by enemies you defeat. While easier enemies have the chance to drop Relics, the stronger and more elite enemies have a higher drop rate. You’ll know you’re fighting an elite enemy if they have a black symbol in the middle of their health bar.

I also recommend accepting all bounties from the board in the game’s villages and cities. These locations are the main safe haven of each region, and contain the blacksmith, merchants, and a bounty board.

Each bounty board has about five bounties to accept. These consist of hunting down and defeating an elite enemy, usually the leader of the bandits or other factions, and result in rare rewards. A good amount of the time these bounties will drop a Relic.

Lastly, Relics can be acquired by simply playing through the game. There were plenty of times I found a Relic without even looking for one, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble.
